Gibson Thunderbird IV

This Gibson Thunderbird bass is in very good condition! It has the classic reverse body and headstock design as originally introduced in 1963 as Gibson's first neck-through-body bass design. The traditional 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck through body construction provides a thundering low end response and a piano like sustain. 
 
The narrow nut width and rounded neck profile neck feels both fast and intuitive. The Thunderbird high output, ceramic magnet loaded humbucking pickups (neck and bridge) deliver the sonic and iconic low end voice for which the Thunderbird is known. 
 
The Thunderbird Bass's neck/body centerpiece is constructed from solid mahogany — as are the two wings glued to each side to form the Thunderbird's distinct silhouette. The mahogany gives the bass the warm and punchy tone that makes it great for rock 'n' roll. Gluing the pieces together ensures maximum wood-to-wood contact, allowing the neck and body to function as a single unit. Neck-through-body construction ensures improved tone and sustain, as well as a perfect neck alignment.
 
For big bass tone, the Gibson Thunderbird Bass comes with a pair of T-Bird humbuckers. Gibson designed these pickups with ceramic magnets to give you punch and clarity. The rest of the band will love your bass's huge, full sound with a tight bottom end. You'll keep the band rocking all night with the Thunderbird Bass.
