Höfner Committee 1960, Guitar

Höfner Committee 1960

INFO

Available only from Selmer. Introduced in 1953/4 and withdrawn in 1969. This was the 'top of the range' model (putting aside the rare Golden Hofner). Beginning it's life as an acoustic; an electric model was introduced in 1957 followed by a thinline electric model in 1959. The large 'frondose' headstock characterises the mode, though this was changed to a standard Hofner headstock in 1963. It had a 17.5" lower bout size changing to 18" in 1963. The 'Lyre' tailpiece was used until 1963 and it was then fitted with the 'Escutcheon' type. Solid carved spruce tops were used, with quality birds eye maple for the back and sides. This Committee is the 1960 model, it's the first Committee to have a truss Rod which still work's perfectly. also dual mini-Humbuckers ,large Frondose Headstock ,ebony fretboard with mother of pearl inlays, solid spruce top and birdseye maple back and sides, Nut width is 45mm Scale length is 620mm. The Guitar is in great condition for its age and a wonder to look at, there are no cracks or major repairs, The only thing I have done to it is a little body binding repair which will prolong the life of some crackling which has happend over the years, apart from that all other bindings are pristine and there are no other cosmetic issues apart from some playing wear at the back of the neck, I bought this guitar from the original owner and it has been very well looked after, it was never a cheap guitar to begin with, following the release of Hofner's new Committee, have a look for yourself:

I am going to let it go for €100 less than the price of the New Committee; the guitar also comes with the original hardcase and I'm also open to part exchange offers with other prestigious vintage guitars like so.
